This past Saturday was good in a hideous way. Good, in that it’s critical to maintain skills and physical readiness for Search & Rescue. Hideous, in that it beat the living crap out of me. A long hike up with full packs and turns carrying the litter; rappelling practice off a cliff and then some line search practice; and then the long hike out. Sunday morning was… rough. Oh well, it’s what I signed up for, and it’s important to do things that are hard. My day job is not exactly demanding physically, so having an activity that is so different is good.
